Demand Planner & Merchandiser

About the role
We’re looking for a highly analytical Demand Planner & Merchandiser to join our growing team at Nordic Knots. This is a key analytical role at the intersection of production and commerce - ensuring that we have the right products, in the right quantities, at the right time to support our rapid growth.
Your key responsibilities
1. Demand Forecasting & Inventory Planning
Build and maintain data-driven demand forecasts across categories, markets, and channels.
Continuously track sales performance, stock levels, and sell-through rates to anticipate reorders.
Manage safety stock and lead-time parameters to ensure product availability and minimize overstock.
Translate forecasts into purchase plans in close collaboration with Production
Identify trends and anomalies early to proactively adjust buying and production plans.
2. Assortment & Commercial Planning
Contribute to the seasonal commercial plan by providing robust data analysis and demand projections.
Analyze assortment performance and identify product gaps or overperforming categories.
Prepare and share reports on sales, margins, and stock turns to support business decisions.
Partner with Design and Production to ensure the commercial plan aligns with operational capacity.
3. Cross-Functional Coordination
Lead communication between teams on launches, changes, and restocks.
Maintain and update launch and assortment calendars.
Provide visibility and reporting on key commercial milestones.
Support management requests related to sell-through, assortment performance, and sales trends.
4. Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Build and maintain advanced spreadsheets and dashboards for forecasting and performance tracking.
Continuously refine forecasting tools and data accuracy in collaboration with Production and Management.
Deliver regular reports on key KPIs such as sell-through, margin, inventory health, and lead times.
Act as the internal data expert for planning, ensuring decisions are grounded in numbers and facts.
Who you are
3+ years’ experience in demand planning (preferably in fashion, home, or design).
Excellent analytical skills with a great sense for numbers.
Flawless Excel/Google Sheets skills - you know your way around complex formulas, pivots, and data models.
Experience with Madden Analytics as demand planning tool is a huge plus.
Structured, highly detail-oriented, and comfortable managing many moving parts.
Commercially minded with a clear understanding of how planning impacts margin and cash flow.
A collaborative communicator who enjoys working cross-functionally with creative and operational teams.
Fluent in English.
